SMAP And Perfume Joined Forces Monday Night, Watch The Video

Perfume appeared on (one of) Japanese-pop legends SMAP’s TV show Monday night, something the Internet tells me has actually happened before. Go figure. Anyway, the two groups engaged in a little small talk, surely promoting the various projects both outfits have coming out on the horizon before teaming up to perform a couple of Perfume tracks. SMAPerfume did renditions of “Chocolate Disco” and “VOICE” that sounded perfectly serviceable, SMAP neither enhancing or taking away from them. What SMAP did add was some laughs, by imitating the Hiroshima trio’s choreography. I’m a particular fan of them doing the hoppy-fanning move.

This all happened against a backdrop that might have been viral advertising for the new Tron movie.

  1. That’s really awesome.

  2. Do those Perfume girls even sing during their lives or do they just flap their lips in the shape of words?
